In Mathematics emphasis is placed upon capturing the pupils' interest, curiosity and perseverance, while encouraging a thorough understanding of concepts and the application of these to new situations, with more challenging work for the most able pupils.

 

Children are expected to learn their 'tables' and familiarise themselves with calculators and computers.  Speed and accuracy are encouraged in mental arithmetic.
