Boys' charity Run for ASBAH

Bolton School Junior Boys have raised a staggering £7,944.18 for the Association of Spinae Bifida and Hydrocephalus.  Pupils were joined by the Head, Mr Michael Percik and the Deputy-Head, Mr Craig Rashleigh as the whole school got into colourful fancy dress for the School's annual Charity Day on Friday 13 June.  The boys worked hard for their sponsorship money, running around the Senior School's playing fields for 40 minutes.  Many parents came to cheer on their sons and to watch the spectacle.

Year 5 pupil, Mustafa Majeed, said: "Fantastic, it was tough but I kept on going on.”

The charity was represented on the day by Mr Matt Johnson who is a Sports Teacher in Bolton School Boys' Division's Senior School.  Mr Johnson, used to teach at the Junior School and has recently undergone two lots of brain surgery after being diagnosed with Hydrocephalus.  Mr Johnson recently completed the Greater Manchester 10k run and will combine the money he raised with the money raised by the boys.

On Monday 30 June Shelly Bullard, Corporate Relations Officer at ASBAH, attended an assembly in the Junior School and was delighted to receive such a large cheque.  She said: "this is a great effort by the boys, we are not used to receiving such large donations.  We are very impressed."
