In the Summer term, Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to take part in an extra-curricular trip to Patterdale Hall, our own outdoor pursuits centre in the Lake District. The centre, which is located in idyllic surroundings at the southern end of Lake Ullswater, provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It sleeps up to sixty guests in dormitory style bedrooms and facilities include a games room, television and videos.
Fully qualified instructors help the pupils to enjoy themselves and get the most out of their time there. They supervise all the activities which include gorge walking, climbing, abseiling, canoeing and sailing. These experiences offer the girls a unique opportunity to work as part of a team, build self confidence, develop life skills and, of course, have fun!
The Advanced Activities Licensing Authority maintains checks on all the instructors to ensure they are up to date with the latest requirements.
