The Governors of Bolton School have drawn up ambitious plans for future development to ensure that the best facilities and technology continue to be available for our pupils.
Major projects in the development plan, soon to be realised, include the building of a new Infant School, new Junior Schools and a Sixth Form Centre, together with improved car parking and better drop-off and pick-up facilities for parents.
In addition to major investment during the past few years in a new campus-wide IT network, this summer, the school witnessed one of the busiest periods for refurbishment, routine maintenance and IT renewal and expansion. In total the Foundation committed over £1.2million to works which included the refurbishment of Science laboratories, the purchase of new computers and twenty additional whiteboards, new sports surfaces at the Leverhulme Pavilion site, and many schemes of painting and redecoration across all five schools and the nursery.
In the tradition of the ethos of Lord Leverhulme, who refounded the school in 1913, the Governors are also committed to increasing the number of bursaries available for bright and talented pupils whose parents cannot afford to pay fees. Currently 269 pupils receive bursary-assisted places and the vast majority of these have received funding from our own Open Door Bursary Appeal. Our plan is to increase this number to 300 in the next three years.
