Our Parents

Strong partnership and communication between parents and school is very important to us and allows us to preserve the School's tradition of community spirit.

Parents receive regular written reports on their child and are invited to consultation evenings and forums.  They  attend sporting, drama and musical events and many parents become actively involved in the Parents' Associations.  This allows them to support and help their child’s school, to keep abreast of all the latest happenings and to meet up with other parents.  The Associations run a number of social events throughout the year as well as occasional workshops relating to Personal and Social Education issues.  Parents involve themselves in School life in a variety of other ways - by acting as hosts to their child’s foreign exchange partners, by offering placements for work experience and work sampling or by joining the Parents’ Choir.

"Bolton School is very special to me because of the total education it gives the pupils. Other schools can provide an excellent academic education but Bolton School does far more than this. It also develops the pupils’ social skills, builds their self confidence through the Patterdale Hall outdoor pursuits programme, encourages them to take full advantage of all the sporting facilities and provides a myriad of extra curricular activities that are probably more diverse than at any other school in the country. By the time they leave school they have become rounded individuals, well equipped to face the challenges of the modern world.”
