Public Benefit: Education

  • the Foundation offers the potential for a continuous educational experience from Nursery through to the Sixth Form.  We currently educate 2,300 pupils from across the region

  • we aim to further the ethos of Lord Leverhulme who, when re-endowing the School in 1913, wanted to offer an education for all academically gifted students, irrespective of their ability to pay.  Currently 286 pupils receive bursary-assisted places and the vast majority of these have received funding from our own Open Door Bursary Appeal.  This amounts to a current spend of £1.4 million on bursaries.  Bursaries are also available through a number of trusts, including the Leverhulme Trust and the Ogden Trust. 15.2% of our students come from families whose income is below the national average

  • our students go out into the world and make a difference for good.  Our alumni network includes internationally renowned figures from business, education, entertainment, politics and science.
