local public benefit: our facilities

The School shares its facilities with the local community in a number of ways:

 

Arts Centre & Great Halls

  • used for weddings, receptions, seminars, parties, dinners and much more!
  • host Greater Manchester Junior Schools' Chess Championships
  • host Manchester Guitar Circle
  • there is a long list of lettings which includes the Historical Association for Bolton, RSPB, Youth Orchestra rehearsals and the Masons.

 

Coaches

  • used by the local community including Bolton Wanderers Football Academy, Horwich Walking Club and the Women's Circle
  • used by commercial clients including the BBC, the National Trust and Keoghs Solicitors

 

Kidzone

  • offers a range of childcare services for children from 4-13 years of age throughout the year

 

Patterdale Hall

  • our own outdoor pursuits centre sits idyllically on the shores of Lake Ullswater and is available for private hire during the year
  • various schools use it during the year - sometimes commercially, sometimes at cost
  • Bolton Lads' and Girls' Club spend a free weekend at Patterdale
  • "Tenacity of Bolton" is a 12-berth ocean going ketch built jointly by the School and volunteers; it will be available for local groups to include the disadvantaged and the disabled.

 

Sporting Facilities

  • playing fields used by local sports clubs
  • partnership with Bolton Wanderers Football Academy who utilise our facilities
  • Sports Hall: available to local community groups after school hours
  • Swimming Pool: available to local organised swim schools after school hours
  • Children from local schools are offered swimming lessons with three organisations
  • RLSS training courses and First Aid available throughout the year
  • Leverhulme Pavilion offers 19 tennis courts to local clubs for federation matches
