Six Bolton primary schools visited Bolton School and learnt how to design and produce their very own school newspaper. The schools, St Mary's Primary School Deane, Beaumont CPS, Devonshire Road CPS, Markland Hill CPS, Gilnow Road Primary School and Brownlow Fold Primary School, enjoyed a busy day in the School's high-tech Learning Centre. Each school sent a team of four - two girls and two boys.
The tutoring was done by Bolton School’s award-winning Bolton School Paper editorial team, which comprises Alex Fisher, Andrew Robertson, Adam Bradley, Matthew Hill, Daniel Fyans, Callan Johnson, Oliver Faulds and Daniel Aiyegbusi (all Year 12); Sam Hardy (Year 10); Edward Hardy (Year 8); Daniel Sikorsky and Josh Butterworth (Year 7).
At the end of the day, the winning team was Brownlow Fold and they received a laptop and laser printer, in second place were Markland Hill who received a laser printer and third place went to Devonshire Road who received a keyboard and wireless mouse. All prizes were donated by the event sponsors, Leapfrog Computers from Westhoughton.
