boys give time and money to bolton hospice
Pupils from Bolton School Boys' Division have donated a cheque for £1,000 to the Bolton Hospice. The money has been raised over the last six months through a variety of in-house events, including a non-uniform day and Battle of the Bands competition. The money will go to Nyree O'Neill who recently ran the London Marathon and who is now collecting her sponsorship money which will go towards the running of the hospice. Nyree is a Senior Staff Nurse at the hospice.
All the Sixth Form students pictured work as volunteers at Bolton Hospice. Oliver Sudworth who is aged 17 and comes from Lostock commented: "Bolton Hospice is close to my school and where I live. Working here always gives me a real sense of doing something worthwhile. I work for 3 hours on every Saturday afternoon and help out on the ward. I always feel appreciated here, especially from the patients who just want a talk or a cup of tea. When I leave, I usually feel upset that I have to leave everything and everyone behind for another week.”
