Twenty Year 13 Business Studies students attended the "Next Big Thing” held at the Printworks in Manchester.  Over 500 students from colleges and schools across the North West attended the event, which provided an opportunity to meet with young entrepreneurs and to gain an insight into how a business is successfully started up.  The keynote speaker was Ruth Badger of “The Apprentice” who was both entertaining and motivating.  Other speakers were young, successful businessmen and women and there was a focus on four businesses: Chilli Marketing, Sell it Shack, 3 Bears Animation and Vicky Martin (a women's fashion label). 

The event was hosted by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and the Institute of Directors as part of National Enterprise Week (13-19 November).
