Jack Roberts, a Year 11 pupil at Bolton School Boys' Division, has raised £250 for The Compassionate Friends - a support network run for and by bereaved parents.
The money was raised through holding a lunchtime PlayStation football tournament involving boys and staff. 58 pupils from Year 11 and 6 teachers were involved in the tournament which took place over 17 lunch times and included 63 matches. Pupils outdid the teachers, who were all knocked out in the first round. Jonathan Elliott went on to win the tournament.
Jack commented: "The PlayStation football tournament was a great success and real fun for everyone involved - I'd like to thank everyone that took part and, also, the sponsors of the tournament. I hope that the money raised will be useful - it struck me that this was a really deserving charity as I am sure that there can be no worse experience in life than losing a child.”
