The First Team have made it through to the ISFA Cup Quarter Final

Football is in good shape at Bolton School.  The U18 First Team has won through to the quarter finals of the national ISFA Cup, beating St Columba's College 2-1.  On a difficult surface both sides tried to play passing football and it was St Columba's who took the lead after 13 minutes with a well executed lob.  Bolton School pulled level in the second half when a cross from the left was squeezed over the line by Tom Nicholls.  The match was won in extra-time when an inswinging shot from Zach Rothwell eluded both attackers and defenders and went in at the far post.

The team will now journey to London to play Hampton School in the quarter finals, week beginning 3 December.  First team coach, Mr Matthew Johnson said: "We are delighted with the progress that the boys have made this year.  We know we are going to have a tough game against Hampton but if our team plays to its potential, we can beat anyone on the day.”

The U15s team also won through to the quarter final stages.

The U12s team is also one to look out for in the future.  Thus far, it is unbeaten and is made up of a number of players from Man Utd, Bolton Wanderers, Bury and other academies.
