Bolton School has won the ISFA U15 Six-a-side tournament; the finals taking place at Brentwood School, Essex on 1 October 2006.
In the morning group games the School finished top of their group, winning all three games (1-0 v Dover, 2-0 v Alleyn's and 3-1 v Bradfield).
In the afternoon, St. Bede's, Manchester, were beaten 2-0 in the Quarter Final and a 2-0 victory was recorded over Wolverhampton in the Semi-Final.
The Final against Highgate was very tight and remained 0-0 at full-time. Victory was secured by 3 goals to 1 in a penalty shoot-out
Bolton 'keeper Ritchie Branagan was named player of the tournament: he did not concede a goal in open play during the whole event.
Coach Mr Brace said: "The team played a brand of football which none of the opposition had an answer to. High levels of concentration, organisation, energy and desire won through in weather conditions which varied from warm and dry in the morning to monsoon-like during the final.”
