David Greenbank's Year 8 Work Sampling Day made him the envy of his class. David got to spend a day at BAE Systems' Warton Aerodrome, which is the headquarters of their military aircraft business, known as Air Systems. David’s father is Systems Delivery Director on the Typhoon Project, a Eurofighter plane.
An excited David commented: "I was glad that they gave me real work. The day provided a real insight into how different people have different roles and it opened up my eyes to a range of possible careers.”
David’s varied day included sitting in a Tornado and two Eurofighter cockpits, using a simulator to fly a Typhoon, a tour of the hangars, sitting in on a number of meetings and watching a Nimrod take off.
David scored 10/10 from his dad, who said: “David impressed everyone he met by his enthusiasm and maturity.”
