The School has won the Lancashire Rugby School of the Year award.

 

The award takes into account the School's progress in rugby and the huge numbers now playing the sport.  The School teams have enjoyed some excellent results and there is a record number of players in the county teams.  The School provides coaching staff for the county and our facilities are used for practices and trials.

 

The School also set up the Emerging Schools Rugby Union Initiative and, together with Bolton Rugby Union FC, are its driving force.  On the back of this nine other schools in the borough are now playing rugby.

 

A presentation was made at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club on 2 June 2006 to a team from Bolton School, led by Mr Fernside, Master in Charge of Rugby.
