Bolton School swim relay teams were part of the largest ever English Swimming Schools' Assocation's Team Championships for secondary schools, which saw 650 competitors battle it our at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on 2 February.  Hundreds of teams from across the country had been whittled down to the twenty teams that took part on the day.

Bolton School took part in six swim relay team finals.  The Intermediate Boys’ Freestyle team came 15^th, the Senior Boys’ Freestyle Team came 11^th and the Senior Boys’ Medley team came 13^th  in the finals.  Daniel Sliwinski, a member of the boys’ senior team, has just returned from five weeks’ intensive training in Australia as part of the British Elite Swimming Team.  He recently broke the UK’s senior boys’ breaststroke record and his talent is being nurtured for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. 

The Junior Girls’ Freestyle Team came 12^th, the Junior Girls’ Medley team came 6^th and the Girls’ Intermediate Freestyle team recorded a position of 14^th.  Emma Saunders of the girls’ junior team has been selected to represent England in an international Gala involving England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.  She will take part in the U14 100m Freestyle at the event in Crawley in March.
