A packed audience enjoyed an evening of Christmas carols and readings

The Christmas Festival

A packed audience enjoyed an evening of festive carols and readings.  The Reverend Chris Bracegirdle of Christ Church, Heaton offered an invitation to worship and the evening opened with a stirring rendition of "Once in Royal David's City”.

There were readings by the Headmaster, Mr Brooker and by the School Captain, Robert Fenton of 13G as well as boys from all year groups.  All the hours of rehearsals paid dividends as the audience enjoyed (and participated in) many Christmas favourites including "While Shepherds Watched", "In the Bleak Mid-Winter", "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!"  The evening ended with a joyous "O Come, All Ye Faithful!"

A retiring collection was made for Christmas charities before festive nibbles and drinks were served in the Dining Room.
