Bolton School are the first ever winners of the Lancashire U18 Plate.  They beat Orrell Colleges 8-3 in the final.

Played under floodlights at Liverpool St Helens RUFC, the final was a tense affair with both sides giving very little away.  A Will Bates penalty took Bolton in front, before the forwards drove hooker Roger Cartwright over the line for the only try of the game.

In the second half Orrell dominated possession but could not find their way through a resolute Bolton defence.

Mr Fernside, Master in Charge of Rugby, commented: "the victory was Bolton School's first major rugby trophy and was just reward for the efforts of all the players and the rugby staff".

On the way to the final Bolton beat rivals Ormskirk and Audenshaw in tight games.
