Bolton School boys become British Biathlon Champions

year 7 british biathlon champions

Three boys from Year 7 of Bolton School Boys' Division have become the British Biathlon Champions in their age group.

Having won through the North-West qualifying rounds held at Blackpool earlier this year, the Boys' Division pupils - Andrew Keat, Isaac Scott and Rajan Bharaj took part in the British final held at the University of Bath on 24 February 2008.

The Biathlon event consists of a 1000m run and a 50m swim.  Andrew Keat came 2nd in the running race and 9th in the swimming race and this was enough to give him overall first place in the competition.  Last year, Andrew had recorded an incredible 2nd place in the junior international biathlon competition held in Italy.

Rajan Bharaj came in 5th overall at the event and Isaac Scott also performed well – the boys’ combined rankings made them this year’s national champions.
