Old Boltonians
Old Boltonians' Liaison Officer

The Old Boltonians' Association

Hello!  Welcome to the Old Boltonians' website.

If you are already active in the affairs of the Association, you will find here more photos than we can publish in print and you will find information about forthcoming events, along with copies of application forms for dinners. Increasingly, there will be updates from the various sporting sections, which you may wish to join or simply to follow their fortunes.

If, on the other hand, you are out of touch with the Old Boltonians, this may be your chance to rejoin the fold.  It needn't cost you anything and you will be able to catch up on old friends.  If you wish to register your details on the database please click here.  We will send you mailings to keep you informed of events, reunions, school news and developments and appeals

Since my retirement in July 2002, I have worked part time in the role of Old Boltonians' Liaison Officer, taking over from Charles Winder.  I am in school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in term time and on occasional days in the school holidays.  I may be contacted in one of three ways:

  • by e-mail on dshaw@boltonschool.org.uk
  • by phone on 01204 840201, or
  • by writing to: The Foundation Office, Bolton School, Chorley New Rd, Bolton, BL1 4PA.

I send two (free) newsletters per year (in November and March) to everyone on the school's database.  If you are not receiving the newsletters, you will need to send me your address.

My remit is to gather and publish news of Old Boys, to act as intermediary between those who wish to contact each other, to escort visitors around the school and to help in the administration of dinners and reunions.  In the latter case, I work alongside the officials of the Association, both centrally and in the regions.

We hold an Annual Dinner at the School in December and annual regional dinners in London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Oxford and Cumbria.  Click here for more details.

These are still early days for the new website so I hope you will understand if you do not find everything you are looking for.  If you have any helpful suggestions on its running and appearance we would be only too pleased to hear from you.

All the best.

David Shaw
