Expressing her delight at this summer's A Level and GCSE results, Headmistress of the Girls' Division, Gill Richards, said: "As ever, the girls and staff have been rewarded for their hard work. These are excellent results and there are some outstanding individual achievements.”
The pass rate at A Level was 100% with 48% of all examinations being graded A and 91.7% of all grades falling within the A-C range. Three candidates achieved marks which placed them in the top five in the country while three candidates achieved the very impressive tally of five grades A’s apiece. The majority of our A Level students will now be going to their first choice university. All the medics and vets secured their first choice of university and all the Oxbridge candidates, 10% of the cohort, achieved their offers.
125 girls sat their GCSE exams this summer. 99.2% of the passes were within the A*-C range with the percentage of passes at A* or A being 81%, 41% of papers being graded at A*. Eight girls achieved 10 straight A* grades and 56 girls (45% of the cohort) gained all A* and A grades.
As if this were not enough, eleven girls recorded the top 5 marks in the country in 18 examinations and, of these, four were placed in the top 5 marks for English Literature, with one girl achieving full marks.
We should like to congratulate the girls on their excellent achievements this summer.
