autumn concert 2007 is a joyous affair

The Music Department called upon the very best of the Girls' Division's talent for this annual musical extravaganza.  Over 300 pupils were involved on the night which involved the Junior, Intermediate and Joint Senior Concert Bands as well as the Joint Orchestra and Girls' Division Jazz Band.

Throughout the evening there were many outstanding, even magical performances, including those given by the Girls' Division's String Ensemble, the Senior Flute Quartet and the Percussion Ensemble.

The Middle School Choir performed an exciting "Medley from Aladdin”, whilst the Chamber Choir's rendition of “The Bluebird” by Charles Stanford was of great beauty and a real "swingy" arrangement of “Night and Day” by Cole Porter was sung with verve and energy.  The Senior Choir rounded this joyous evening off with stirring performances of the Hollies' favourite "He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother" and a thrilling arrangement of "The Battle of Jericho".

Mr MacKenzie commented: “Once again, audience and performers alike enjoyed a superb evening; all the hard work - by both pupils and teachers – has been rewarded with some consistently wonderful performances.  A big 'Thank You' to all involved!”
