Bolton School Girls' Division put smiles on faces through a rousing evening of music which broke through the Autumnal gloom.
On Tuesday 14 November the Girls' Division held its annual Autumn Concert. Hundreds of performers and a packed audience enjoyed a wonderful and varied evening of music. The Girls' Jazz Band, String Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble and Intermediate Concert Band all performed with great enthusiasm and superb musicality, with eloquent and moving performances given by the Joint Chamber Choir, Flute Quartet and Saxophone Quartet. For many, the Senior Choir singing "Steal Away” was the highlight, whilst for others it was the Concert Band with Kate Teasdale performing a very complicated Alto Saxophone solo in Sparkle’s 'Carnival’.
Mr Alistair MacKenzie, Head of Music, commented: “it was a thrilling evening, the Middle School sang a delightful medley of Disney songs and the Joint Orchestra performed a very exciting rendition of Bizet’s ‘Carmen Suite’. A tremendous amount of hard work from our dedicated staff produced a superb evening of wonderful music. Thank you to everyone!”
