piano festival raises money for christie's
Bolton School opened its doors to the general public when it held a Piano Festival in the Girls' Division's Great Hall at the school on Chorley New Road. The evening was unusual in that there were no single performances and all of the music was performed by duets and trios from girls in Years 3 through to 12 (ages 7-17).
Entry to the event was free and over 400 people turned up on the night. There was a collection at the end which raised the grand sum of £1,121.06 for Christie's Hospital.
