A team of Sixth Form students has won £350 for the School after a third place finish in the Northern Ireland, Scotland and Northern England Final of the Target 2.0 competition.  The final was held in Manchester and the pupils gave a 17 minute presentation on whether they agreed with the current Bank of England interest rate; they then had to back this decision up with up-to-date economic data.  After the presentation they had to answer questions from the panel of judges.  The panel was made up of three employees from the Bank of England, two of whom report directly to the Bank of England Monetary Policy Commission each month.

Mrs Robinson, Head of Economics and Business Studies in the Girls' Division, said: "The girls were placed third out of the seven teams at the final, which is a significant achievement as it was the final for such a wide geographical area.”
