old girls get into the christmas spirit

The Old Girls' Association threw themselves into the Christmas spirit as they held their first ever Christmas Fayre.  The event took place in the Arts Centre at the School and was a great success with well over 100 Old Girls and friends of the School attending on the night.  Besides offering a chance for the Old Girls to pick up some early Christmas bargains, the event raised over £1200 for the charity Breast Cancer Care.  The money was raised through ticket sales, the pink bring and buy stall and the raffle.

Eighteen diverse and interesting stalls tempted the shoppers with a range of Christmas novelties and gifts.  A professional announcer circled the hall, announcing the different stalls and their wares.  Stalls included wildlife art, designer couture, antique furniture, handbags, earrings, scarves and foodstuffs.  There was also an opportunity for Old Girls to pamper themselves with a facial.  Having shopped 'til they dropped, visitors then revived themselves with mince pies and mulled wine.

Carol Haslam, Director for Old Girls, commented: "we are all really thrilled with the success of the evening and I would like to offer a special thank you to Dawn Leonard and Chantel for organising the event.”
