International Football Debut for Richie

Old Boy Richie Branagan made his International football debut for the Republic of Ireland, in an U21 friendly against Cyprus.

Richie played in goal for the first half and kept a clean sheet in the game, which finished 0-0. He is currently signed up as a goalkeeper with Bury FC. Having previously been part of the youth system at Bolton Wanderers, he joined the youth set-up at Bury before joining the first team squad for the 2009/10 season. He was granted a one year contract extension in the summer of 2010 and made his Football League debut on 23 October 2010 as a 60th-minute substitute in a match against Southend United.

Richie is the son of former Republic of Ireland International and Bolton Wanderers player Keith Branagan, who is now a football coach for Bolton School Boys' Division.
