Former Bolton School pupil Michael Grist is currently living and
working in Japan as a writer and teacher, and as such is seeing
firsthand the effects of the devastating earthquake and tsunami
that hit the country.
Michael was teaching in Tokyo when the first earthquake hit, and
on feeling the tremors it soon became clear it was no ordinary
earthquake. In the wake of the disaster he has agreed to write a
daily blog for the Bolton News over the coming weeks talking about
how the country has been affected.
Michael is currently writing an epic fantasy series called 'The
Dawn Cycle', and working on a book of Japanese ruins
photography. Besides his writing and ruins photography he teaches
English classes and works as an editor.
His blog on the events in Japan can be read at the link
