Old Boltonians AFC was formed in 1920, since when it has been a
member of the Lancashire Football Association and has played in the
Lancashire Amateur League - indeed, the club is now next to the
oldest in the league. We also claim to play on the oldest football
ground still in use in England (and hence the world). Ian Worsley's
research into the history of our ground at Turton appears on the
next page. Each Saturday we turn out four teams - 1st XI, 2nd XI, A
Team and B Team representing a varying range of footballing talent.
The aim of the club was, and is, to provide football for all Old
Boltonians - and the efforts of the committee and sponsors have
continued to make this possible.
Training is free and all are welcome. During the season training
is held every Tuesday from 7pm in the Sports Hall at School. Sign
up for the e-mailed newsletter to keep in touch with pre-season
dates, social events and during the season weekly results, match
reports, fixtures and tables.
