The Bolton School Foundation exists in order to realise the
potential of each and every pupil. In order to do this we believe
in providing an all-round education, which extends far beyond the
classroom. This means that the School is, and always has been,
inextricably linked with the local community. It is a central part
of our ethos that pupils should be engaged with the real world and
that when they leave the School they will make a positive
contribution to society. It is through the interaction with local,
national and international concerns that pupils learn about topical
issues and develop a sense of their place in the world. Many also
develop a benevolence which stays with them throughout their
lives.
Whilst our pupils learn from their interactions with the outside
world, the School, in turn, engages with and benefits the local,
national and international community in myriad ways. The following
pages (with links below) detail some of the recent work undertaken
by pupils, staff and ex-pupils of the School.
