The Boys' Division Catering Department has been working hard to
raise over £1,000 for the charity Barnardo's.
The main thrust of their efforts came in the form of a sponsored
pyjama party and sleepover at the School. Sixteen women braved the
rumours of haunted corridors and slept overnight in the Boys'
Division. Tracy Peacock from the Catering Department took part in
the sleepover and commented: "There was not a lot of sleep but
there was a lot of fun. One or two attempts were made to try and
scare us but, to be honest, I think we would have scared any ghosts
away. It was a really enjoyable way of raising a big pot of cash
for a very worthwhile cause."
Earlier in the day, three of the Catering team - Deborah, Carol
and Joyce - and two members of the Personnel and Safety Department
had abseiled down one of the landmark 23 metre turrets at the main
entrance of the School.
Further money was also raised through a raffle with prizes
donated by, amongst others, Warburtons, Thorntons, Wrights of
Horwich, Uncle Joe's Mint Balls and Horwich Leisure Centre.
