Lofty Surprise for Holiday Club Kids

Monday, 26 July 2010

Lofty the Lion surprised youngsters at Bolton School as he paid a visit to those children taking part in the Bolton Wanderers Football Academy coaching session.    The children, aged 4-13, were thrilled to receive their certificates of achievement from Lofty, Wanderers' mascot.  They had all received coaching from Academy trainers and, having built up their skills, had taken part in a number of matches.  The course was just one of the activities taking place over the summer organised by the School's Kidzone @ the Den Holiday Club.

Miss Lindsay Williams, Manager at Kidzone @ the Den, said: "It is the first time we have linked up with Bolton Wanderers' Academy and I am delighted with the way that the sessions have gone.  The children have really enjoyed themselves.   The course is just one event in a busy programme that we offer over the summer, including visiting Camelot and Wallace and Gromit at Spaceport and taking part in activities such as an outdoor pursuits experience, ice skating and swimming."

The holiday club has 300 youngsters on its roll and parents can book their children in for the whole summer or just a short period.  Approximately one third of the group is made up of non-Bolton School pupils.
