Old Boy Matthew Lamprey scores for Lancashire in Beaumont Cup Match

Old Boy Matthew Lamprey scored his first try for his county this weekend, during the final of the Bill Beaumont Cup at Twickenham!

His efforts helped the Lancashire team to beat Cornwall 36-26, despite trailing by 16 points early in the second half.  This is the fifth time in six years that the Lancashire team have emerged victorious in this competition.

Matt was a keen member of the rugby team at school.  He took part in the 2006 Italy Tour, during which the team was unbeaten, and was Vice-Captain of the 1st XV team.  He now plays for Sedgley Park.
