"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

When children join us at Beech House, our first priority is to try to build up good relationships between the adults and children and between the boys and girls themselves. We want the children to feel they really belong to our school and that they are in a safe, caring environment. Once they are settled and confident, we encourage them to become more independent and to accept some responsibility for their own learning and for classroom tasks.

Learning starts with the child as our 'Myself' topic is all about family and home life. The children gain an awareness of their feelings and of their own and different cultures. They enjoy dressing up and role play in settings ranging from 'home' to a Chinese restaurant.
