Physical Development

During their year in Reception, our children refine their motor skills through energetic play indoors and outdoors. They respond to music and stories, moving appropriately and they use apparatus to refine climbing, jumping, throwing and catching skills. Play is sometimes individual and sometimes co-operative, for example working together to control a parachute or giant ball. In the classroom, a variety of toys and a magical making area allow children to practise skills such as cutting and constructing.
