Award for Super-mum Stacy

Wednesday, 20 November 2013

Bolton School Infant School Nursery Nurse, Stacy McKee, has had her “super-mum” efforts rewarded by winning a Personal Achievement Award at the Mecca Bingo Awards in association with The Best of Bolton.

The McKee family is no stranger to awards as last year Stacy’s husband, Shane, who works at the School’s wraparound and holiday childcare service Kidzone, won the Parent of the Year Award at the Tower FM Local Hero Awards Ceremony.

It was Shane who nominated Stacy for the Mecca award, which she received at a glittering ceremony in Bolton.

Stacy looks after her 20 month son Riley who has been diagnosed with Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Riley has been in and out of hospital and now takes medication 4 times a day.

Alongside working at Bolton School and caring for Riley, Stacey also has a 3 year old daughter Kallea and has recently enrolled on a primary school teaching course.

Stacy deserves the award and title ‘Super-mum’, but says she couldn’t do it without her husband Shane, who is a real hands on dad!
