Year 2 pupils at Beech House presented a cheque for £193.56 to
Bolton Wanderers Captain Kevin Davies, for his charity Kids of
Bolton.
The pupils raised the money for the local charity through a cake
sale at the School. The children produced posters and letters to
parents asking for home baked cakes, price labels and a banner to
promote their sale. They sold the cakes to their fellow Year 2
pupils and even some parents came along.
Kevin Davies was delighted to receive the donation. He said: "My
charity has been going about a year now and I have had three big
fundraisers so I know how hard it is organising events. It's great
that the Bolton School Infants have put in all this hard work and
raised so much for the many children in this area who are less
fortunate than them. The charity is focused on helping those less
fortunate to go on and achieve good things in their chosen sport
that otherwise they would not have the chance to. Recently we
have been able to buy a new strip for a football team and provide
gymnasts with a new facility."
