Flying Visit to Manchester Airport

Tuesday, 08 March 2016

Pupils in Year 2 visited Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park as part of their learning about geography and different places.

The children were really excited to get up close to the aircraft and watch some of the planes coming in to land. As part of the visit, they went into the cabin of one of the aircraft and explored the many careers at the airport through role-play! They also went onto the flight deck and pretended to fly the plane, getting the feeling of what it might be like to be a Pilot!

As part of the visit, the children were given a tour of the aircraft and learned about the various fundamental parts that allow planes to fly.

The children were also able to visit Concorde, which was very exciting!
