"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Hollie is Rolling from Strength to Strength

Tuesday, 01 May 2012

Year 2 pupil Hollie Asquith has excelled at the British Roller Skating Championships in Peterborough.

Hollie entered the British Tots Free Skating and finished an impressive 7th out of 19. She had to perform a two minute free programme including loops, salchows, flips and spinning. She also competed in the British Tots Solo Dance, where she had to perform two dances, and finished 10th out of 23. Hollie skates at age 6 level and the Tots championships is for under 9, meaning she has two more years she can compete at this level and aim even higher!

Hollie has been skating since she was 22 months old, making the headlines when she passed her first national grade badge before she was 2! She has now passed grade 8 free skating.

She trains every weekend with Bolton Artistic Roller Skating Club at Harper Green School in Farnworth, and has even started teaching basic skating at the general session to her brand new peers!

The sport is worldwide, and has its own European and World Championships plus other international competitions at different levels.
