"Recently I won the Mensa Child Genius Competition and I believe that it was possible because of the academic skills and the skills to perform in front of an audience and to keep calm under pressure that I acquired at Hesketh House."

Magic in Store at Year 2 Christmas Party

Wednesday, 17 December 2014

There was a sprinkling of magic at the Year 2 Christmas Party this year. Not only did the pupils get a wonderful visit from Santa Claus himself that very morning, they were also delighted with entertainment from magician Paul Storey and his puppet pals!

He provided the children with a full magic show with plenty of funny moments and lots of audience participation. The hall was filled with the sounds of laughter and gasps of surprise as Paul made cards and handkerchiefs appear and disappear, and brought out his dog and duck puppets for a spot of ventriloquism that fascinated the children. Some of the children even got to take part in the magic tricks themselves, earning them a menagerie of balloon animals to take home with them!

After the show was over, the children were treated to special snacks prepared by the Beech House Parents’ Association, and lots of fun and games in their classrooms! It was the perfect way to round off the end of term.
