Year 2 Piano Recital

Tuesday, 19 April 2016

Pianists in Year 2 took centre stage, many of them for the first time ever, to perform in front of an audience of parents and family members. The twenty-six children, who all learn the piano in School, introduced their pieces before sitting down to play.

The audience enjoyed listening to a variety of pieces, including nursery rhymes ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’, ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ ‘Pease Pudding Hot’ and ‘Frère Jacques’, as well as familiar songs ‘Kum Ba Yah’, ‘Happy Birthday’ and the Welsh lullaby ‘Suo Gan’. There were also lots of other pieces in many different styles, each of which showed off the children’s musical talent.

The children who performed in the recital were: Henry Anderson, Scarlett Bowie, Georgia Clarkson, Eddie Griffiths, Elliot Foster, Emily Fox, Amelia Hashemi, Hugo Hayton-Weed, Marissa Hollinghurst, Ellen Hood, Dhilan Jacobs, Xavier Jones, Sami Khan, Siddhansh Kumar, Nikita Luhar, Stanley Mathieson, Matilda McCann, Rayyan Nasir, Nora Oesterle, Milan Pitalia, Nia Raja, Harry Saaiman, Nishan Sharma, Daisy-Lee Strange, Aashan Subhani and Henry Sykes.
