Bolton School employs approximately 175 teaching staff and 280
support staff and has 2,300 pupils. The School provides education
for Boys and Girls from age 4 to 18 in the co-educational
pre-preparatory school, Beech House, and then subsequently in the
Junior and Senior departments. In addition, the School operates a
day nursery with an 84 place capacity.
The two main Schools are in connected buildings on a site of 32
acres, together with a further 5 acres of tennis courts and playing
fields. The School also owns a separate building used as the School
Scout Headquarters, and leases a superb Outdoor Pursuits Centre
situated at the Southern end of Ullswater.
A large Central Services Department supports the School
operations and within this there is a trading arm, Bolton School
Services Limited (BSSL). This includes the Coach company, and the
Arts Centre and Sports Complex.
As a result of the arrangements outlined above a diverse range
of employment opportunities exist within the whole School
foundation and those who work within the organisation are able to
combine the experience and pleasure of educating and being around
young people with some of the challenges of a business
environment.
Opportunities are advertised here on the intranet, on the
internet and in the local or national press, and from time to time
may include positions for teachers, opportunities for technicians,
coach drivers, maintenance staff, and outdoor pursuits instructors
to name but a few.
