Prospective students and their parents are invited to visit the
school on our open evening which is held annually in
November. Staff will be on hand to explain the AS and Advanced
Level courses and to offer advice about subject choices.
Visits can also be made at other times during term
time.
For further information and an application form please contact
the Sixth Form Admissions Secretary, Mrs Julie
Holland on 01204 840201.
Once an application has been made, you will receive an
invitation for interview. These will be held in March, one evening
after school so that you do not miss any of your GCSE classes. You
will be asked to bring your school reports, record of achievement
and Mock Examination results with you. If you are considering Art
or Technology as one of your options, you should also bring your
portfolio. You will not be asked to sit any tests: any offer made
will be based on your interview and your school reference. If there
are any dates in March when you know you are unavailable between
4.00 pm and 5.30 pm it would be useful if you could let us know in
advance.
Any offers made at this stage will be provisional until the GCSE
results are known. Once you have received an offer, you will be
invited to join us for an Introductory Day in late June when the
GCSE examinations are over.
Bursary support is available to students applying to join the
Girls' Division Sixth Form. We award bursaries after consideration
of family income and a student's academic merit; in order to help
us ascertain the academic potential of a girl applying for a
bursary we will require her to sit a cognitive test administered by
the School.
