Boys Perform Tom Sawyer

Friday, 04 July 2014

This year’s Junior Boys’ Summer Production was Tom Sawyer. The Park Road pupils shone in this energetic and entertaining portrayal of Mark Twain’s novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

The boys really threw themselves into character. Those playing members of Tom’s ‘robber band’ clearly enjoyed acting out their escapades! Injun Joe struck fear into the hearts of the audience, while Muff Potter came across as very sympathetic. The boys playing Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer himself also did an excellent job – their panic after witnessing the murder of Dr Robinson was particularly well done.

The Girls’ Division theatre was transformed into the fictional town of St Petersburg for the production. The boys gave three performances on consecutive evenings this week to packed audiences of family and friends, and the show was a huge success.
