The stunning landscape artwork of 48 Year 6 boys at Bolton
School is now on display in the Upper Hall of Bolton town
centre's busy indoor Market Place. The paintings make a
dramatic and colourful wall of art with scenes ranging from
beaches, countryside, the sea, mountains and waterfalls.
Ten year old Ben Forshaw said: "It is really exciting to see our
art displayed in the town centre and I hope people will admire our
work. I hope it brings pleasure to the people of Bolton
and beyond."
Mr Tim Dickinson, the boys' Art, Design and Technology
Coordinator, said the paintings were well received by the public as
he put them up with many people commenting to him how they could
not believe they had been done by 10 and 11 year old boys.
The acrylic landscape paintings were created as part of the
Year 6 art curriculum. The boys chose an image to paint and were
taught the techniques by Mr Dickinson.
The boys' work will be displayed for the whole month of
February.
