Bolton School Junior Boys took to the field dressed in an array
of colourful fancy dress outfits in order to raise money for Derian
House and Cancer Research through their annual Fun Run!
Rock stars, bananas, clowns and cowboys ran alongside characters
from Star Wars, penguins, chefs, and various sportsmen including
cricketers and footballers! Joined by the Head of Junior Boys Mr
Stephen Whittaker, and ADT Coordinator Mr Tim Dickinson, the boys
ran around the Senior School running track for 40 minutes. The
pupils ran in pairs, one would run whilst the other rested, and
they were supported all the way by cheering parents.
The annual fundraiser is the main charity event for the Junior
boys and they all worked hard to raise their sponsorship and to
complete the run on the day on such a warm afternoon!
Head, Stephen Whittaker, said: "The boys all made a
fantastic effort today! Taking part in events like this is
important as it gives them a sense of responsibility and
benevolence towards others, and allows them to engage with the
world outside of school in a fun way."
