Bolton School Junior Boys from Years 5 and 6 took part in the
British Schools Biathlon regional qualifiers, to compete for a
place in the national final in March.
The boys completed a 50m swim which they had to finish within
the 40 second time limit, and a 500m run, where they all easily
beat the recommended time of 2 minutes 30 seconds.
Each Year group was split into teams, and it was success for
both Bolton School teams as the Year 5 team gained 1st place
overall, and the Year 6 team achieved 2nd place overall, both
receiving winners medals. Individually, the boys put in some
excellent performances gaining individual winners trophies- Year
5's Harvey Haworth gained 2nd place in his age group, Harrison
Barker-Smith was 3rd, and Guy Haworth was 5th. In Year 6 David
Price also gained a trophy for 4th place, Elliot Makin was
7th, Thomas Heatherington 10th and Bill Moores 16th.
The boys will now wait to discover who has qualified for the
National finals to be held in Aldershot once all the qualifiers
have been completed.
