Bolton School Boys' Division has won the Pentangular Swimming
Gala and retained the shield that they have now won in nine of the
last ten years.
Begun in 1987, the Pentangular Swimming Gala between Bolton
School, Bury Grammar School, Hulme Oldham, QEGS Blackburn and
Merchant Taylor's Crosby, is now in its twentieth year. The
standard is always very high as each school selects their top
swimmer or relay team from Under 10, 11, 12 and 13 years of age
categories. The swimmers compete in individual, medley and
freestyle relays as well as in the backstroke, breaststroke,
butterfly and freestyle races. Merchant Taylor's were unable to
take part this year.
