Park Road Parents' Association

Park Road Parents' Association formed as an Association in its own right, (Bolton Boys' Junior School Parents' Association), in September 2006, and continues to work very closely with the Boys' Division Parents' Association.

The aim of the Parents' Association is to punctuate the school year with a series of activities that seek to bring together pupils, staff and parents in an environment that is relaxed, memorable and, most importantly, fun!

Annual events include the Christmas Fair, held in the Boys' Division Great Hall, combining a mixture of games and stalls to appeal to both parents and children.  A Family Quiz Night which is always very popular, with the number of teams and players increasing every year!  A Parents' Summer Ball with dancing until midnight. We provide a Sports Day Refreshment Tent on the last day of term for parent spectators.

From the funds that have been generated from these events we have provided a series of workshops, events and equipment for the boys.  These have enhanced the curriculum and been thoroughly enjoyed by those involved.

We send out regular newsletters to keep parents informed, and there is a Parents' Association folder in the foyer at Park Road, which has details and pictures of all the events and activities that we have arranged - so please have a look next time you visit school.

The voluntary annual subscription of £12 per pupil is used to respond to the Teachers' Wish List.  Requests for funding for non-curriculum related projects are submitted to the Committee who decide which projects will be supported.

The Boys' Division Parents Association also manages the running of the outgrown clothing shop where items of school clothing, sportswear etc. that boys may have outgrown can be sold or purchased.  The Junior School deals with its lost property at the Park Road site.  The Outgrown Clothing shop and Senior School Lost Property is situated on the Senior School site.  Volunteers to assist in the shop are always much needed so, if you would like to help, please let us know.

We would be delighted to welcome new parents to join our committee, which operates on a very informal and friendly basis.  It is a great way to meet other parents, and also to become a little more involved in school life.

Information about forthcoming events can be found in the Junior Boys Downloads section.
