Nowadays, ICT skills are a major factor in enabling children to
be confident, creative and independent learners. Through the
teaching of ICT we equip our pupils to take their place in a
rapidly changing world which is increasingly dependent on
technology.
Lessons take place in our computer suite which is equipped with
32 computers. All classes have a weekly lesson of one hour in which
they learn basic computing skills. ICT is also used as an important
tool to aid research and presentation of work across a wide range
of subjects.
In Years 3-5 we use a published scheme, (Nelson Thornes Primary
ICT), which ensures progressive development of ICT skills. In Year
6 our pupils prepare for entry to the Senior School by practising
the use of WORD and other standard software packages.
ICT is great. We do lots of fun things which are also
challenging.
